Unsere Zeit ist jetzt - ab 06. Oktober im Kino
Original: Unsere Zeit ist jetzt
Year: 2016
Director: Martin Schreier
Writers: Arend Remmers
Cast: Til Schweiger, Cro, Peri Baumeister, Marc Benjamin, David Schütter
Synopsis:

Synopsis:

Everything starts in summer – out in the sticks in Northeast Germany, a village Ole calls home. Ole is in his twenties and spends most of his time racing mopeds with his buddies, hunting deer with his father Heinz and hitting the absolute hotspot in town: the local gas station.

There is one person in Ole’s life who wants to put an end to this waste of time: his grandfather Karl. With the help of Susanne, Ole’s mother, he arranges for Ole to go to Berlin and start an internship. But Karl is not only concerned about Ole, but also about the feud between his two sons, Heinz and his brother Manni that dates back 25 years! The old man hopes Ole can reunite the two families and tells him to live with his cousin Rokko who Ole hasn’t spoken to in 15 years. Naturally, neither Rokko nor Ole is really happy about the turn of events.

In Berlin, Ole meets Fritzi, a cheeky and slightly crazy city girl who completely turns Ole’s head. He is stunned and confused at the same time. To make matters worse, his Uncle Manni is annoying him with his permanent macho behaviour, but Ole keeps his head above the water. Just as Ole is starting to like the city life, a call rips him back to real life: Grandfather Karl is dead.

Manni, Rokko, Fritzi and Ole start their journey to attend Karl’s funeral. On the way, they already prepare themselves for the pre‐programmed clash between the two brothers Manni and Heinz. Their rendezvous turns out to be a disaster, the funeral an awkward embarrassment and the reunion of the brothers is now in the far distance.

The only one who stands by Ole during this family chaos is Fritzi. Back in Berlin, the two become closer and it seems as though Fritzi, for the first time in her life, lets somebody into her heart. But soon Ole discovers that Fritzi has a different idea of relationships. Too much, all too fast! Fritzi panics. As Ole sees her with another man, the cold of the city hits him in the face.

He just wants to skip city again as his two best friends, Marcel and Ronny, turn up. They immediately realise that something is wrong with Ole and come up with a plan to relieve him of his lovesickness: In a wild night between poles and police they try to distract Ole. He understands: You can always rely on your friends! While they pull an all‐nighter, Fritzi realises what she has done and how badly she has hurt Ole’s feelings: She wants him back. But it’s too late: Manni takes the hungover gang back to the countryside. On the trip, Ole and Manni realise that in some summers, you just grow up more than in all the previous ones.

As Manni wants to end the quarrel between himself and Heinz, he accidently walks in his brother’s line of fire. But finally a mistake, a holey buttock and a heart full of love lead to the long awaited reunion of the families. Ole also decides to swallow his own pride and to fight for his love, and as soon as he makes the first step in Fritzi’s direction, she shows up exactly at the right spot at the right time, where it all began – out in the sticks in northeast Germany.

Not my day
Year: 2014
Director: Peter Thorwarth
Writers: Peter Thorwarth, Stefan Holtz
Cast: Axel Stein, Moritz Bleibtreu, Anna Maria Mühe, Jasmin Gerat
Synopsis:

Till Reiners, mid-30s, has been a teller at Osthofen Mutual Bank for almost 15 years, leading a settled, regular life. His marriage to ambitious purse designer MIRIAM is happy, but in danger of getting into a rut after all those years of harmony. The diehard hard rock lover's life is not exactly exciting, except for when his 4-year-old son has a crying fit because he lost his favorite snuggle bunny.

All of a sudden, Till is torn from his daily routine when a bank robber storms his branch and takes Till hostage after his getaway car breaks down. When the kidnapper takes his mask off, Till recognizes NAPPO, a former con who just got out of jail and wanted a loan from Till to buy a new car the other day, but Till turned him down for professional reasons.

As the police set up roadblocks and Miriam awaits her husband's call, Nappo decides to abandon Till in the trunk of the car the next morning and disappear with his loot. But it doesn't work out that way. Till and Nappo have to flee together. Pretty soon, Till has had enough. He summons all his courage and demands to call his wife, but the call turns into a fiasco. Due to a misunderstanding, Till gets the impression his wife doesn't care for him at all.

Completely confused after this phone call, Till throws caution to the wind and dives into adventure with his kidnapper, Nappo. The odd couple even discovers a shared passion, their mutual love for hard rockers "Donar". Till really starts having a good time when he's able to use his banking skills to arrange an extremely lucrative deal for Nappo.

More and more, Till relishes the gangster life and his newfound freedom, which takes him across the border to Holland. Little does Till realize the police are already treating him as a suspect and accomplice in the bank robbery. Miriam refuses to believe her husband is in cahoots with the gangster, and sets out for Amsterdam to find her husband without the help of the police.

However, Miriam winds up in danger due to the shady deal Till has arranged. Her husband, meanwhile, has realized his old, "square" life maybe wasn't so bad after all, and has to risk all to rescue his beloved wife in a dramatic showdown...

Once again producer and director Til Schweiger has stuck his characters in situations as absurd as they are funny as they are exciting. After all what do the Pope, a suitcase full of baking powder, four not-so intelligent friends and the mafia-like trade in human organs got to do with one another? In AUF HERZ UND NIEREN they are the key elements of a macabre and grotesque story, one with plenty of heart and black humour, as Ricco (Steffen Wink), Sigi (Martin Glade), Dave (Niels-Bruno Schmidt) and Glotze (Thierry van Werveke) dream of hitting the big time. Instead they fall foul of a drug baron and sinister organ dealers. Their one chance to emerge intact is to play their opponents at their own game.....">/movies-en/auf-herz-und-nieren/

Three elderly ladies, Carla (Gudrun Okras), Lilli (Elisabeth Scherer) and Meta (Christel Peters), chat about their aches and pains and their fear of death's approach. Harmless stuff, at first glance, but the autumn of their lives is hardly a bed of roses. Carla can not pay the rent for her retirement home, Lilli is constantly harassed by her daughter and Meta's neurotic son is getting on her nerves. A wee dram is just the thing for putting the cares of the world behind you… Over the odd glass of liqueur they dream of a luxurious cruise financed by their card games. Just their luck to be mugged as they bring the takings to the bank. A shattered dream? No way, say the three graces, anything those young robbers can do, we can do better. They work out a perfect plan, persuade Meta's short-sighted neighbour to join them, and return to the bank with a blunderbuss…..">/movies-en/now-or-never/
